Ultra cold atoms into a cryogenic enviroment
Since end of 2010, the 4 Kelvin part of the QuiC experiment, suceeded in transporting via a magnetic conveyor belt, an ensemble ultra cold atoms into a cryostat. Several 107 atoms of 87Rb are stored in the final quadrupole magnetic trap. The transport coils are partially normal conducting and partially super conducting.
